This satellite uses the day-night band of the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS), which detects light in a range of wavelengths from green to. Coverage is limited and may show glitches/anomalies. Radar maps show rain and snow detected in real-time. Images are collected over time from providers and platforms. Heat sources show areas of high temperature using the latest data from FIRMS. You can see a large collection of imagery in Google Earth, including satellite, aerial, 3D, and Street View images. HD satellite images are updated twice a day from NASA polar-orbiting satellites Aqua and Terra, using services from GIBS, part of EOSDIS.
